We had a few people end up not coming due to camp being during the work week. I was thinking though about how maybe someone or many for that matter, prayed for a smaller camp to have more time building more relationships and to not be overwhelmed by so many people. I don’t know if that’s why not everyone came but it was comforting to think.
Yesterday was great and I had the chance to talk with a few people that came through the tie dye station (I, Cecily, was basically there all day). Erman was floating about doing all types of relationship building and detail explaining. Our team has been functioning really well together so THANKYOU to everyone who prayed for that. I don’t think we could have asked for a better team in terms of enthusiasm and joy.
Yesterday was mostly get settled and meet everyone, the road was long for many (6-12hrs) so many napped once they got here, showered etc. we started our sessions last night by breaking the youth into small conversational groups which they continue in for the remainder of camp.
This morning we had two sessions led by different youth leaders and then had the afternoon for games. I heard many people say at our campfire tonight that they would like even more games (like last time) haha I think there is a sweet middle ground we have yet to find.
This evening I (Cecily) shared with my cousin (Erman’s cousin) for the evening session. It went well despite my fumbles in Turkish. Erman shared two sessions as well and Ezgi helped him with worship this evening.
Just giving you all the spark notes play by play and will probably have more reflective posts after camp.
Thanks for following us in the journey and praying for the youth of our country. I’ve had the same conversation with many about how Gods effect is a ripple effect and our changed lives don’t leave others untouched.
